How
To Change The Color of Any Windows Folder - No More Boring Yellow
Folders
You can change the color of any Windows
folder* two different ways!
 The
Easy Way!
1. Right-click on the folder you want to change the color of and
choose "Restyle by FolderMagic" Click on the image (at left) so see
a larger image of the Folder color customization dialog. Or, you can
open FolderMagic to change icons or colors.
Note: Due to security changes in Windows 7and 8, if you are using Windows
7 and 8, you cannot right click to change a folder. Simply open
FolderMagic to make icon or color changes.
2. Choose between the two styles of folders offered by FolderMagic
(Style 1 or Style 2)
3. Choose any color you
like! Choose any of the premixed colors showing in the color dialog
or mix your own by clicking "More colors" the colors you can create
are limited only by your graphics card and your imagination!
4. After you've selected the folder color you want, simply
double-click on the folder style you prefer. That's it! FolderMagic
will change the folder to the color and style you chose. It's that easy.
And, registered FolderMagic 2.0 users can download the special,
pre-made icon collections we offer free of charge - or you can
create your own icon collections and use them in FolderMagic! Be

Another
way...
You can open FolderMagic and use FolderMagic's Explorer view to
browse to any folder on your computer and change its color by
following steps 2 through 4 above. It's easy! The colors you can
create yourself are
limited only by your computer's graphics card and your imagination!
How
To Change The Icon of Almost Any Windows Folder
You can change the icon of almost any Windows folder*
two different ways!
 1.
Right-click on the folder that you want to change the icon of and
choose "Restyle by FolderMagic" (For more details - Click on the
image (at left) so see a larger image of the FolderMagic folder icon
customization dialog.) FolderMagic 2.0 even lets you change system
folders like Recycle Bin, Computer, Documents, Hard drive icons, and
more!

2. Click the "Pick An Icon" tab
3. Use the "down arrow" to select the Icon set you want to choose an
icon from (see this picture for more details).

4. Browse through the icons and click the one you want to use to
select it
5. Once you've chosen the icons and selected it, click the OK
button. You're done! Now go look at your folder!

Another
way...
You can open FolderMagic and click the "Browse" button to browse to
any folder on your computer and change its icon by following steps 2
through 5 above. It's easy and the colors you can mix yourself are
limited only by your computer's graphics card and your imagination!
*Because of certain Windows restrictions not every
folder icon can be changed. Certain system folders cannot be
restyled.
 Change "My Computer" "Recycle Bin" and other Windows System folders!
Open FolderMagic and use FolderMagic's
Explorer view to browse to the system folder you want to change.
Select any icon you want to use and double-click it to select
it. It's that simple. In a few seconds your Windows System icon will
change to the icon you chose.

A little information about Windows System Icons:
System icons are icons that represent Windows system virtual folders
like "Computer" (on Vista), "My Pictures", "Recycle Bin", "My
Computer", etc. Also, note, you cannot change the color of these
icons, you can only change the folder's icon.
How
To Add Descriptions To Any Folder Using FolderMagic *Windows XP
only*
You can easily add descriptions to any of your folders! You'll never
forget what's inside a folder again!
 1.
Right-click the folder for which you want to write a personalize
description.
2. Type your description in the form provided next to "Informational
Tip"
Click here to see a picture to show you (or click on the image
to the left to see a larger view).
3. After you've typed in your text click "OK". That's all there is
to it!
4. Now when you hover over that folder you'll see your full
description! You'll never forget the contents of a folder again.
When you hover over the folder with your cursor you'll see the text
description that you entered
Keep Your Folders
Private! *Windows XP only*
You can easy prevent sharing of folders
with FolderMagic!
Did you know? On Windows XP each user can have their own "User
Account".
Unless you make your folders private any other user
on your computer has access to your folders. FolderMagic makes it
simple to prevent any folder from being shared with other users.
Just check the box the bottom of the FolderMagic dialog that says
"Do not share this folder." (Click
here to see a picture). Note this feature is available for
Windows XP users only. This feature not available for Windows Vista
users. Windows Vista offers this feature by right-clicking on the
folder and choosing "Make this folder private".
 Customize,
Stylize, and Colorize with FolderMagic!
